Artist Statement
The human condition at the beginning of the twenty-first century in North American consumer culture is the primary source of motivation in my art. The average individual, regardless of monetary income, has been conditioned to consume material and media culture regardless of its effects upon the individual at alarming rates. Our culture at large places an emphasis on profit and growth before individual health and well being. My interest lies in the fact that we are conditioned to believe that we can have everything at the cost of our own physical, emotional and spiritual health.
