Graduate Studies: Degrees

At the graduate level, the Department of Art regularly admits students into graduate degree programs with concentrations as follows:

  1. Master of Arts degree in Art (code ART_MA01) with Concentration in Art Education (32 units)
  2. Master of Arts degree in Art (code ART_MA01) with Concentration in Art History (36 units)
  3. Master of Fine Arts degree in Art (code ART_MF01) with Concentration in Studio Art (60 units).

Additionally, the Department of Art occasionally accepts students into a program of study leading to the Master of Arts degree in Art (code ART_MA01) with Concentration in Studio Art (33 units) The department also offers a graduate-level Certificate Program in Museum and Curatorial Studies (code ART_CT02) and an interdisciplinary program leading to a Certificate in Biomedical Art (code ART_CT01). Either of these Certificates may be pursued independently, or in combination with a program of study directed toward the achievement of one of the department’s degrees.
